Art Plus Gallery presents REGARDER, a group exhibition featuring four artists whose artistic practices have developed within the diverse cultural and artistic environment of France: Karole Reyes, Olga Yaker, Christian Renonciat, and Seock Son.

The French word “regarder” means to look, to observe, to contemplate. More than a simple act of seeing, it suggests a conscious encounter with the world and an openness to discovering what lies beyond the visible.

Although the four artists work through different media and individual visual languages, they share a common interest in perception, imagination, color, form, space, and the relationship between the visible world and inner experience.

Karole Reyes, born in Mexico and educated at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, creates vibrant paintings populated by imaginative figures and dreamlike narratives. Her works bring together cultural memories, fantasy, and the visual richness of her experience between Mexico and France.

Olga Yaker, born in Moscow and based in France since 1990, explores the possibilities of painting through color, gesture, composition, and space. Her works reveal a dialogue between abstraction and the traces of the visible world.

Christian Renonciat approaches the act of looking through sculpture and material. His organic forms encourage the viewer to consider volume, surface, balance, space, and the physical presence of an artwork.

Seock Son develops a distinctive pictorial language through the interaction of line, surface, rhythm, and visual depth. His work invites a closer and more attentive observation of the subtle changes taking place within the painted surface.

Together, the four artists present four different ways of looking—at nature, memory, the human figure, space, color, and the world around us.

REGARDER is an invitation to slow down and look again:
to look beyond the surface,
to encounter the world through different eyes,
and to discover how each artist transforms what they see into what we see.
