JIIAF Art Center / Jirisan Contemporary Art Museum, Hadong, Korea

Exhibition Overview

Senegalese Contemporary Art Special Exhibition – META Flower Garden_Jirisan was presented as part of JIIAF 2021, under the theme “Life × Sustainable Future.” The international exhibition brought together 57 artists from five countries—Senegal, Korea, Argentina, Peru, and the United States—presenting 159 works.

Curated and developed as a fusion of contemporary art, digital media, and upcycled installation, META Flower Garden_Jirisan explored the connections between nature, human life, culture, and technology. Images and artworks from different regions were transformed into a new digital and multimedia environment, creating a symbolic “flower garden” that connected cultures beyond geographical boundaries.

The exhibition focused particularly on Senegalese contemporary art, placing it in dialogue with artists from Korea and other regions. Through this international collaboration, the project proposed a new form of cultural exchange in which art, ecology, digital technology, and sustainability intersect.

Art Plus Gallery collaborated in supporting the international art exchange and the presentation of Senegalese contemporary art in Korea.
