Exhibition Overview
FADE OUT is a solo exhibition by Korean artist Ye Park, exploring the relationship between memory, time, and the changing perception of the self.
The artist reflects on youth from the perspective of the present. Youth may appear brilliant and beautiful when remembered, yet looking back with greater distance reveals moments of confusion, pain, uncertainty, and vulnerability. Between the past and the present lies a gap created by the passage of time and the choices made along the way.
Through layered and atmospheric imagery, Ye Park records fragments of everyday life as they accumulate within memory. Individual moments overlap and become transformed, much like images fading in and out of consciousness. The artist reconstructs these fragments through the flow of time, examining how memories are altered and how the past continues to exist within the present.
FADE OUT ultimately becomes a quiet reflection on remembering, forgetting, and coming to terms with one’s former self. By revisiting the past, the artist seeks to understand the person she has become and to reconcile the present self with the self that existed before.
